June 17, 2026

Hi {{Lived-Mailing-Name}},

Our office and the entire University will be closed Friday, June 19th, in observance of Juneteenth. Please keep this in mind when reaching out with questions or concerns, there will be a delayed response until the following business day, Monday, June 22nd.

Our New Student Insight Sessions (NSIS) are in full swing, and we have many insightful sessions planned for you over the next two months leading up to your arrival on campus. The New Student Insight Session page has all the details; find descriptions of sessions, links to join, and previous session recordings! Students, along with families and supporters, are encouraged to attend these sessions. All sessions are held at Eastern Time (ET).

IMPORTANT DEADLINES 📌

Set up Proxy User(s) and Authorized Payer(s) by June 30

In order for family members and supporters to help you with account and billing and/or financial aid, you need to designate them as a Proxy User and/or an Authorized Payer. These are two different processes and it is important to do both!

Proxy Access allows you to give someone permission to view and discuss your financial aid and Federal tax information.

Authorized Payer Access allows you to give someone permission to view and discuss your current billing account and charges, make payments, and/or enroll and in a monthly payment plan.

Learn more information and find instructions on how to give your family members and supporters access.

Student Health Insurance Waiver/Enrollment due July 1st

All undergraduate students enrolled in at least nine credit hours are required to have health insurance. You can either enroll in UVM’s Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) or waive it by providing details about your existing health insurance policy. Please note: you must finalize your course registration with your advisor before completing the online insurance decision/waiver form in your MyWellbeing portal.

If you are registered for courses and do not submit your insurance decision by July 1st, you will be automatically enrolled in SHIP, and the cost of the plan will appear on your fall semester bill.

If your course registration advising appointment is scheduled after July 1st, you will be able to submit your insurance decision after you register. If you choose to waive SHIP at that time, the insurance charge will be removed from your billing statement.

For any questions, contact StudentInsurance@uvm.edu.
