UVM encourages students to walk, bike, or use public transportation whenever possible. Campus and city buses are free for students and can get you to places like the grocery store, mall, airport, and train station.
UVM Bikes is a student-led bike co-op where you can learn how to keep your bike in tip-top shape or rent a bike for the academic year.
If you are planning to bring an electronic bike, scooter, or other e-micromobility device to UVM, please note that there are safety regulations for these devices and they can only be stored and charged in specific locations on campus. They are not allowed in Residence Halls.
Need a car occasionally? CarShare Vermont offers discounted memberships for UVM students.
First-year students living on campus are not eligible for parking permits (except for approved medical or employment needs). Commuter permits go on sale starting July 1.
