If you have completed your housing contract, you will receive your Learning Community Assignment on May 28 and be assigned a room selection date in June. If you did not select a roommate yet, you will be able to view the profiles of other students during room selection to be sure you are a good match before selecting the same room.
If you have not completed your housing contract you can still do so! Visit the housing portal and sign in with your NetID to complete your contract.
If you live within 20 miles of campus and would like to request to live at home, you can complete the commuter student request form here.
If you have questions about the housing contract, roommates, room selection, or what to bring to campus, reach out to University Housing (universityhousing@uvm.edu). If you have questions about accessibility accommodations and living on campus, reach out to Student Accessibility Services (access@uvm.edu). If you have questions about financial options for on campus living costs, please reach out to Student Financial Services at sfs@uvm.edu.

New Student Course Registration Process & Advising Appointments
For your first semester, UVM assigns your courses to you based on your incoming credits, major, and other information. Your Course Registration Advising Appointment will take place virtually. During this appointment, you will review your course registration and be able to request changes, if needed.
On or around June 1, your college will send an email to your UVM email address with information regarding your course registration and advising appointment.
Starting June 1, 2026, we will no longer include your personal email address in our emails throughout the summer. We do this to encourage the regular use of your UVM email, as it is the official means of communication for all university matters.
